WE ARE THANKFUL TO EVERYBODY,

Who is showing their interest in Mumbai Open Karate-do. The purpose of our portal is to put forward the History of MUMBAI OPEN KARATE-DO.

We had the idea for the “MUMBAI OPEN KARATE-DO CHAMPIONSHIP” every year for quite some time. In 1992, with my brothers Dilip Gade, Rajesh Gade, and friends Sadashiv Phenany, Pramod Pusalkar, and Sanjay Samant, we organised the first “MUMBAI DISTRICT OPEN KARATE-DO FULL CONTACT CHAMPIONSHIP, 1992” with over 400+ competitors. Over the years, we had privileged to organised the “Mumbai Open Karate-do Championship” on a District, State, National, and International levels.

“MUMBAI OPEN KARATE-DO CHAMPIONSHIP” aimed to be on the World Karate-do map. We wanted our fellow country Karatekas, who couldn’t afford to compete in International Tournaments due to a variety of issues, to have access to a standard international level platform, where they could showcase and refine their skills. Over the years, we have been privileged to have had the directions/guidance of Late Saiko Shinan Kunihiko Tosa, Founder & President of Genseiryu Karate-do International Federation, JAPAN, Late Renshi Prakash Prabhu, Shihan Kiyohiko Tosa & Shihan Anura A. K. – South Asia Genseiryu Karate-do Federation for organizing the championships.

As you are aware, no one has been able to organise tournaments or championships for the Karatekas to participate in and demonstrate their skills for the past two years due to the Pandemic/Covid and its various restrictions. Keeping this in mind, we are pleased to organise the “MUMBAI OPEN KARATE-DO ALL INDIA CHAMPIONSHIP, 2025” and invite all of you to join in various capacities.

Looking forward to meet and enjoy the sports spirit and team work from all participants and officials in the Championship….
